We use mongongo oil as a natural protective conditioner.
 
 
 The oil coats the hair and forms a protective shell when exposed to sunlight, but it doesn't leave hair greasy. As with all our conditioners, we avoid synthetic conditioning agents.
 
 
 
 
 Mongongo trees grow particularly well in the deep sands of the Kalahari Desert and can survive droughts that last for years.
 
 
 We use oil extracted from the seeds because it contains eleostearic acid which polymerizes rapidly under ultraviolet light to form a protective film over each hair.
